What Is DropShipping?
Dropshipping is an order fulfillment method where a store doesn’t stock the products it sells. The seller purchases items from a third-party, such as a wholesaler or manufacturer, and has them shipped directly to the customer. The seller never actually handles the product directly.
This industry has blown up over the years, thanks to how little money and resources are needed to get started. Dropshipping is a great way to go from nothing to becoming a successful business owner for those who know how to work it.
Why Did I Choose DropShipping?
There are so many reasons dropshipping is an ideal career for just about anyone, but here are a few of the things that attracted me:
- Because dropshipping doesn’t require a desk, storage, or tons of supplies, I can work remotely from anywhere in the world at any time.
- I get to be my own boss. I can set my own schedule and my own rules and run the business in a way that works for me.
- Dropshipping is a 100 billion dollar industry, with limitless earning potential. Your success is only capped by how much you’re willing to put into it.
- It can be easy to get started. With the low-cost entry and limited supplies needed, just about anyone can do it.
- Dropshipping is passive income. Once you have your strategies in place, you don’t have to work hours and hours every day to make money.
- I can sell what I want. There are tons of variations on dropshipping. I love the flexibility to sell a wide variety of items, or just focus on the industries that interest me the most.
Here Are Some Things I Learned While My Business Was Taking Off
I’ve learned so much about myself and business since I started a year ago, and here are a few things I’ve found that are key to success.
Have a strategy in place. Structure doesn’t have to be scary. Setting yourself up with a solid plan and automation is the best way to support yourself to have freedom in your lifestyle. Once you’ve done the hard work on the front end, you’ll have more opportunities to access your most creative self and live the life you deserve.
Get Your Friends Involved. Dropshipping is a 100 billion dollar industry, and there is MORE than enough success to go around. I firmly believe that when you find a bomb business idea, you should let your friends in on it. Networking and sharing good opportunities help you grow and we can all benefit from sharing resources.
You can fix being broke, but you can’t fix being lazy. Either you want it and you’ll put in the work, or you don’t respect yourself and don’t believe you deserve to be happy. The ability to be a self-starter is what separates the winners from the losers.
Position yourself as an authority in a crowded industry. Remember that generalists are paid the minimum, while specialists are paid at a premium. Don’t sell yourself short.
Change your mindset. Being wealthy starts with opening yourself up to the possibilities of being the best version of yourself. Stop limiting your potential and let go of the idea that you need to be on a budget when you’re investing in yourself or your happiness.
